Maharashtra CM expresses satisaction over Mah Budget for 2013-14

Mumbai, Mar 20 : Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan today expressed satisfaction over the presentation of surplus budget for the year 2013-14 by his deputy and finance minister Ajit Pawar in the Assembly.

The budget was drafted keeping the common man in mind and it does not have any major tax proposals which will increase the burden on the common man, he said while talking to reporters here after the presentation of the budget.

Mr Chavan said the taxes were imposed only on cigarette, bidi, tobacco, Indian Manufactured Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and strong beer,apart from gold and silver jewellery.

However, the taxes on essential commodities, Solapuri chadars and other things have been reduced in people's interest, he added.
