BSE Sensex falls on uncertainty
Mumbai, Mar 20 : The BSE Sensex fell 0.65 percent on Wednesday as political turmoil in New Delhi and RBI's hawkish stance hit investor sentiment.
The 30-share benchmark index ended 123.91 points lower at 18,884.19 with 19 of its components closing in the red.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.90 percent or 51.55 points lower at 5,694.40 on Wednesday.
Lenders led the decline while other shares also tumbled on prospects of economic reforms that was struck by political instability.
Meanwhile in the New Delhi bullion market, gold rose Rs 130 to Rs 30,370 per 10 grams while silver also strengthened by Rs 200 to Rs 55,000 per kg.
