Mohali Test: India beat Aus; clinch series

Mohali, Mar 18 : India defeated Australia by six wickets to win the third cricket Test match and clinched the series on the fifth and final day of the match at the Punjab Cricket Association Ground here on Monday.

Needing 133 for victory, India reached 136 runs by losing four wickets.

Skipper MS Dhoni (18*) and Ravindra Jadeja (8*) remained unbeaten till the end as they ensured India reach the target at the end.

Virat Kohli remained the top scorer for India with his 34 runs.

Nathan Lyon, Peter Siddle and Xavier Doherty scalped one wickets each for Australia.

Earlier in the day, Australia were all out for 223 runs in their second innings. The visitors took a lead of 132 runs.

Phillip Hughes remained the top scorer for Australia with his 69 runs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja picked up three wickets each for India.

India lead the series 3-0.
