India calls off hockey series with Pak
New Delhi, Mar 15 : In reaction to Pakistan's resolution in its parliament over Afzal Guru, India on Friday decided to call off a hockey series with Pakistan scheduled in April, media reports said.
Reports said the Ministry of External Affairs has cancelled the bi-lateral hockey series between India and Pakistan.
Details are awaited.
Meanwhile, lawmakers of both Houses in India on Friday slammed Pakistan for its resolution in their parliament condemning Indian parliament attack convict Afzal Guru's hanging and demanding return of his body to his family Kashmir.
A resolution is also being drafted to condemn the action of Pakistan jointly by all Indian lawmakers.
Pakistan's Parliament on Thursday passed a resolution condemning last month's hanging of Afzal Guru, a convict of the 2002 attack on the Indian Parliament, and demanded the return of his body to his family.
Reacting to the resolution, India's Minister for External Affairs Salman Khurshid said, "This shows Pakistan's unhealthy interest in matters of our country."
"Pakistan should restrict themselves to their issues," Khurshid was quoted as saying.
Guru was hanged at Delhi's Tihar Jail on Feb 9.
