RCC to be upgraded as National Cancer Institute
Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 15 : The Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) here will be upgraded into a National Cancer Institute, State Finance Minister K M Mani announced this in his budget speech today. Mr Mani said steps would be taken for setting up cancer tertiary care facilities in Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram Medical Colleges and select District Hospitals in the State.
A health Insurance Scheme for families with an annual income up to three lakh each will have the state government bearing the insurance premium.
De-addiction centres would be opened in Government hospitals to treat addiction to alcohol and drugs.
