Janpand panchayat CEO to be booked
Bhopal, Mar 15 : Madhya Pradesh Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra today told the Assembly that the chief executive officer (CEO) of Ghatia janpad panchayat in Ujjain district has been removed on the charge of financial irregularities and an FIR will be lodged against him.
Replying to a calling attention notice by Mr Ramlal Malviya (Congress), Mr Mishra said that Meharban Singh has been removed from the post of Ghatia janpad panchayat's CEO.
He said disciplinary action was under consideration against Singh and he was removed from field posting and posted as assistant project officer of Neemuch janpad panchayat after obtaining approval with the Chief Minister's consent on July 11, 2012.
Singh obtained stay from the High Court's Indore bench against the order. However, he showed attendance in Neemuch without relieving from the janpad CEO's post. Hence, he was suspended on March 5.
Mr Mishra said that the Legal department has been urged for issuing directions for re-examination of the matter in view of stay obtained by Singh. Besides, the Ujjain Commissioner was directed recently to lodge an FIR over financial irregularities by Singh.
