Privilege motion moved against Leader of Oppn Sunil Jakhar

Chandigarh, Mar 15 : A breach of privilege motion was moved against Leader of Opposition in Punjab assembly Sunil Jakhar today for bringing unauthorised people in the Vidhan Sabha complex.

Mr Jakhar had brought the woman victim of the Tarn Taran police beating case and his father to the Congress Legsilature Party office in the complex on Wednesday to present them before the media. Both of them were not issued entry passes by the Vidhan Sabha Secreatriat.

Moving the privilege motion, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Madan Mohan Mittal said this was serious breach of security and, Mr Jakhar had admitted in the House today, he committed this act deliberately.

Admitting the motion unanimously, Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal referred the issue to the Privelege Committee of the House and asked it to give its report in one month.
