BJP wants suspension of diplomatic ties with Pak ; caution on China

Jaipur, Mar 15 : The BJP today demanded suspension of diplomatic ties with Pakistan and ongoing confidence building measures with the neighbouring nation in protest against the Pak National Assembly's resolution on Indian Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.

BJP party Chief Rajnath Singh also warned the government of the bid of strengthening of friendship between Pakistan and China and also alerted for possibilitis of enhanced threat of terrorism in the region after withdrawal of US Army from Afghanistan next month.

Talking to the mediapersons at Jamdoli on the outskirts of the city,this morning, the Party President said 'There is no point in having diplomatic relations with Pakistan and hence Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan be called back.

Expressing anguish over the Pak resolution the BJP Chief also urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to strongly condemn the resolution in our Parliament.

The BJP President said terrorism was still being sponsored from Pakistan, and the Government in that country lacked conviction and action plan to deal with the menace.

Mr Singh said the US had decided to withdraw its army from Afghanistan in April and then the threats of terror strikes in the region might be more serious and "our government should also remain alert in this regard."

The increasing closeness and friendship between Pakistan and China should also be seen with a vigil eye, he said.

He also urged the government to take the Opposition in confidence and evolve strong stand of India to deal with situation with Pakistan.

Since Mr Singh took the stance before the media at the sidelines of the the RSS All India Pratinidhi Sabha, his comments also reflect the Sangh Parivar's view on the issue.

Mr Singh had reached here on Wednesday evening and since yesterday he has been attending the RSS meet.
