Odisha approves proposal to set up 13 Medical Colleges
Bhubaneswar, Mar 15 : The Odisha government has approved the proposal to set up Medical College and Hospitals in 13 places and provided land free of cost and also at concessional rate to 39 organisations to set up hospitals in the state, Health and Family Welfare Minisrter Damodar Rout told the assembly today.
Replying to a question of Mr Naba Kishore Das (Cong), the minister said discussion was on with the organisations to provide free medicare to 25 per cent outdoor and ten per cent indoor poor patients as per the directive of the Supreme Court.
A condition has also been made in the permission letter to Medical Colleges and Hospitals to provide free medicare to 25 per cent poor patients both in outdoor and indooor patients, the minister said.
