Assam Rifles nabs 2 NSCN cadres in Nagaland
Kohima, Mar 15 : The personnel of Assam Rifles have apprehended one each of NSCN (Khole-Khaplang) and NSCN (IM) cadres in separate incidents.
The PRO of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) stated that based on 'specific input' they apprehended one Lieutenant of NSCN (KK), who is the commander of Nuiland area on Monday last.
The cadre was apprehended in Murgipatti area of Dimapur town and one 7.65mm pistol, one magazine and six live rounds were recovered from him. The statement informed that the NSCN (KK) cadre, the pistol and ammunition have been handed over to the East Police Station, Dimapur.
In another incident, the PRO stated that the Assam Rifles launched an operation and apprehended a NSCN (IM) cadre on Tuesday from Dima0pur town. He informed that a sum of Rs 90,800 and tax collection slips were recovered from the cadre, whom they identified as one Amok Ao.
The Assam Rifles stated that Ao had revealed that he was an active member of NSCN (IM) and was involved in collection of tax from locals and shop owners. The cadre along with the recovered cash and tax slips has been handed over to the East Police Station, Dimapur, the releases said.
