Maharashtra govt appoints committee to inquire purchase of autorized meters
Mumbai, Mar 15 : Maharashtra Minister of state for energy Rajendra Mulak today announced constitution of a committee to inquire into purchase of Automized electric meters.
Legislative Council Opposition leader Vinod Tawade and others raised a question through calling attention motion that there was irregularities in passing tender for purchase of Automized meters, resulting in financial burden of Rs 450 crore on electric distribution company and demanded an Economic Offence Wing (EOW) inquiry.
Initially, Mr Mulak tried to satisfy the members through his reply but when other members also demanded a inquiry, he accepted their demand to stay the process of purchase of meters and also conduct inquiry into issue of tenders to the companies.
