Youth injured in firing in Thane
Thane, Mar 15 : A 26-year-old youth was injured after being shot at by unknown persons in the city shortly after midnight last night, police said.
The police said the youth sustained two bullet injuries and has been admitted to Bethany Hospital here.
The police said Sunil Pawar, a resident of Ambedkar Road locality, was fired upon from point-blank range near his residence at about 1245 hours.
The Naupada police, under whose jurisdiction the incident took place, are yet to register an offence in connection with the firing, police said, adding the statement of the youth is yet to be recorded. A hunt was on for the culprits,
The motive behind the shooting was still not established, police sources said.
