Hamilton can't wait to race against 'fierce competitor' Button at Melbourne GP
London, Mar 15 : Mercedes ace Lewis Hamilton has claimed he can't wait to race against fellow Brit and fierce teammate Jensen Button at the inaugural Melbourne Grand Prix.
The two were teammates at McLaren for the past three years but will now be fierce rivals once again, the Sun reports.
Hamilton stunned McLaren last year to accept a 60 million pound three-year deal with Mercedes, and he said he couldn't wait to take on Button when they meet on the grid this Sunday at the Australian Grand Prix.
Hamilton added Button and he are fierce competitors, and he is sure he wants to beat me more than ever, adding he probably thinks that it is going to be a lot easier to beat me.
Hamilton further said he hopes that is not the case but he has to envisage it might be the case for a while, adding when he was at McLaren, he did actually feel that if he wasn't winning then he hoped Button was winning.
Hamilton added he thought it was quite positive for the team, whilst it is always difficult to see your team-mate win, it is still a good thing, but now it is all to play for and they will be fierce competitors and he will race even harder.
Button has also cranked up the heat on Hamilton as he looks to defend the title he won here last year, saying it's going to be interesting to see how they get on this year, and already you can feel a different atmosphere, in a positive way.
