Nagaland Minister Chang calls for change in education system
Kohima Mar 12 : Nagaland Minister for School Education C M Chang has called for the transformation of the educational scenario in the state and sought cooperation between his office, staff members and the entire Department.
In his maiden interaction with officers and staff of Directorate of School Education (DSE) at the Conference Hall at Kohima yesterday, Mr Chang asked the officers and staff to render their duties with more conviction and utmost zeal stating that it was education through which the future of society could be crafted.
He asked the stakeholders including teachers to work hard and commit themselves to their respective jobs while they were in service and not after retirement.
Nagaland Commissioner and Secretary for School Education Department T Imkonglemba, who chaired the reception programme, said education department was one of the oldest departments in the state and the same department required people at the helm of affairs having knowledge and wisdom through experiences.
He hoped that with good team spirit, the Department would take up new challenges that were ahead for the Department under the leadership of the new Minister.
Parliamentary Secretary for Urban Development Zhaleo Rio has said he would usher in an era of all-round development for urban areas and small townships throughout the state in the next few years.
Mr Rio's consultant Sebastian Zumvu expressed the view that the state had all the pre-requisites to be transformed into a well-planned and modern satellite townships.
Mr Rio is committed to development of all the urban areas of the state with advanced technology as NPF party President Shurhozelie and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio had assured full support to him for all round development, Mr Zumvu said.
