Lokayukta court remands IAS official to JC
Bangalore, Mar 14: The Lokayukta court in the city today remanded Bangalore Rural district Deputy Commissioner M K Aiyappa to one day judicial custody after the Lokayukta police completed grilling him over alleged illegal acquisition of government land through forged documents.
He was arrested yesterday and remanded to a day's police custody after Lokayukta police found prima facie evidence against him and three other officials of forging of documents.
The culprits had forged documents to allot 32 acres of prime land belonging to the government on the outskirts of the city to a person who immediately sold them to seven people at a throwaway price.
A BJP MLA from the city is also said to be involved in the case and further investigation by the Lokayukta Police would bring out the truth.
Meanwhile, the Lokayukta police questioned the IAS official and three others throughout the day and sources said they had given vital information on the land scam.
