Indian Railways identifies projects for swift coal steel evacuation
Kolkata, Mar 14: The Indian Railways in association with Ministry of Power and Ministry of coal, has identified some 48 projects to develop connectivity and ensure swift evacuation and transportation of coal, iron ore and steel during the 12th Plan.
India Coal Market Watch (ICMW) quoting railways sources said providing rail connectivity to coal and iron ore mines across the country was an ongoing activity, but no policy has been formulated for rail connectivity to coal, steel and iron ore projects.
'A total of 30 coal projects and 18 iron ore and steel projects have been identified in major coal and iron ore producing areas for improving connectivity and swift transportation during the 12th Plan'
