Newly married woman burnt alive by husband in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Mar 14: A 20-year-old newly married woman was allegedly burnt alive by her husband on suspicions of her character in their house at Jodwadi village of the district.

The husband, suspecting his wife's character from the beginning of their marriage, always abused her. He poured kerosene and set her ablaze late last night. The couple were married just a month ago.

Hearing Sheetal cry for help, the neighbours rushed to the spot and admitted her to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where she succumbed during treatment, rural police said.

In her dying declaration, she held her husband responsible for the act.

Following which, Subashsingh Jarwal (22) was arrested by police in this connection.

An offence has been registered by Chikalthana police against Jarwal in this regard, sources said and added further investigation was on.
