Three killed in tempo-motorcycle collision in Maharashtra

Sangli, Maharashtra, Mar 14: Three people, including a woman, were killed and two others injured when a speeding tempo

collided with a motorcycle near Maishal village, on Miraj-Maishal road in the district.

According to Miraj police, one Narenda Narayan Petkar, along with his mother and a relative, was returning to Laxmipuri in Kolhapur on motorcycle after performing last rites of a relative at Ugar last evening.

Near Maishal, the tempo, while trying to overtake, collided head on with the motorcycle. Later, the tempo hit a tree and overturned.

Two people on the motorcycle and tempo driver died on the spot. Two others were injured and were admitted at Government Hospital in Miraj.

The deceased were identified as Dheeraj Vijay Pise (22), Lalita

Narayan Petkar (50) and Tempo driver Anil Birajdar.

Miraj police were investigating the incident.
