As many as 18 international flights fom Dubai, Abu Dhabi,
Sharjah, Colombo, Muscat, Madives and Mauritius among others were affected due to diversion to other airports.
The international passengers had to endure flight delays of 5 to 7 hours.
As many as 12 domestic flights covering Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram among others were also affected. Passengers on the domestic circuit had to suffer two to three hours of delay.
Passengers had a harrowing time due to the delays and diversions, the sources said.
