TESO bandh gets good response in Pondy
Puducherry,Mar 12 :The 12-hour bandh called by the DMK-led TESO to press the Centre to support the UN resolution against Sri Lanka evoked good response in the union territory of Puducherry today.
Almost all shops and other business establishments remained closed,all private buses, autorickshaws,three-wheeler passenger tempos and taxis were off the road while the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Governments-owned buses plied with police escort.
All State and Central Government offices and government schools and banks functioned with less attendance while the private schools declared a holiday for the day.
Cinemas here suspended two shows in view of the agitation.Many of the industres in the industrial estates here were funtioning with less attendance.
