Sarpanch shot at, villagers turn furious
Sheohar, Mar 12 : Local people turned furious when criminals opened fire on Sarpanch Nand Kishore Rai at Bhorha village under Shyampur Bhataha police station area in the district today.
Police said here that criminals opened fire on Rai causing serious injuries. The sarpanch was admitted to Shree Krishna Medical College Hospital in Muzaffarpur.
Enraged over the attack on the sarpanch, local people blocked the movement of traffic on NH-104 to vent their ire. Soon after police superintendent Naveen Chandra Jha reached the spot with reinforcement. The blockade was cleared after police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the unruly mob, police further added.
