BJD MLA demands trial of abductors in fast track court

Bhubaneswar, Mar 12 : BJD member Alekh Kumar Jena today demanded that the trial of the accused involved in the abduction and murder of Raj Kumar Jena, a student of the Saraswati Vidayamandi at Pattamundai, be made by a fast track court.

Raising the issue during zero hour, Mr Jena said Raj Kumar was abducted by accused for ransom on March four last and thrown into the river leading to his death.

Mr Jena said prime accused Sujit Pradhan was the vice- president of the district Chhatra Congress. He had bought a car a few days prior to the incident and was on a membership drive in various colleges.


He said the accused committed the crime to pay the loan. Mr Jena said soon after the arrest of the accused the

Congress party had removed Amulya Praddhan, the father of the prime accused from the prime membership of the party.

The BJD leader said an inquiry should be made to find out who were behind the incident and demanded compensation to the families of the deceased.
