3000 lecturers to be appointed through BPSC:HRD Minister
Patna, Mar 12 : More than 3,000 vacant posts of lecturers would be filled up through the Bihar Public Service Commission and Bihar University Act would be amended for the purpose.
Replying to a short notice question of Awadhesh Kumar Rai in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Human Resources Development Minister P K Shahi said here that more than 3000 vacant posts of teachers would be filled up through BPSC.
Earlier, there was provision of appointment of lecturers through the University Service Commission which had been repealed, he added.
Mr Shahi said in vew of irregularities committed in appointment of Vice-Chancellors, the process of appointment has been changed to ensure transparency.
The responsibility of recruitment of lecturers would be given to BPSC and Bihar University Act would be amended soon for the purpose, he added.
The issue of delay in appointment of lecturers snowballed in trading of charges between Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui and Mr Shahi.Later, Mr Shahi assured the House that Bihar University Act Amendment Bill would be brought in the House in the ongoing Budget Session.
