Painter Ganesh Pyne passes away
Kolkata, Mar 12 : Acclaimed painter Ganesh Pyne passed away here today following cardiac arrest. He was 76.
The artist was not keeping well for the last couple of days and was admitted to a city hospital.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee condoled his death.
"The death of Ganesh Pyne is an irreparable loss. The vacuum will not be filled," Ms Banerjee said in her condolence message.
Painters Suvaprasanna, Jogen Chowdhury and Samir Aich expressed their grief at the death of Pyne.
A pall of gloom descended on the cultural fraternity hearing the demise of Pyne.
