Two held in CHSE question paper leak
Sambalpur, Mar 12 : The Crime Branch (CB) police have arrested Deputy Secretary of Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Sambalpur zone Debendra Nath Behera and Sandilya College Chairman Kartik Barik in connection with the leakage of +2 Science question papers.
The CHSE board has suspended Dr Behera and removed him from his post.
A team of crime branch officials from Cuttack led by DSP R N Mohanty interrogated Dr Behera and Barik for their involvement in the question paper leak yesterday.
CB sources said during the interrogation, the duo admitted their involvement in the incident.
However, Dr Behera told newspersons that he became a victim of the conspiracy of senior officials from CHSE Bhubaneswar office.
Crime Branch officials claimed that a deal was finalised for leakage of question papers in exchange of Rs three Lakh.
The state government had ordered a crime branch probe after the Physics question paper was found leaked. The CHSE had also cancelled both Physcics and Chemistry examination and announced a fresh date to conduct the examination of these two papers.
