TPCC President smells conspiracy in poll result
Agartala, Mar 12 : After about two weeks of election result, Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Sudip Roy Barman in his first reaction smelled conspiracy in the poll outcome that resulted debacle of the party in the state.
Mr Roy Barman told media today that the peoples' mandate was not reflected in election result and the party was in depth analysis of the reverse performance, which was beyond imagination.
Besides, inner party sabotage by a section of party leaders against voting opposition candidates there was a possibility of manipulation in the EVMs, which all were under due investigation, he stated.
Regarding appointment of Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader in 11th Tripura Assembly Mr Roy Barman said all elected legislators had already conveyed their choice of leader to party high command and it was expected before first day of upcoming session on March 15 they could able to elect leader.
Earlier, defeated congress candidate and MLA of outgoing assembly Subal Bhowmik and former minister and leader of the opposition Jawhar Saha alleged that the party got defeated at the hands of Left Front due to treachery by PCC president Sudip Roy Barman and CLP leader Ratan Lal Nath, and the party had also expelled Mr Saha for six years.
Meanwhile, another group of party leaders who accused AICC for the result and alleged keeping eyes on next Lok Sabha election the party leased Tripura to CPI-M get their support in formation of new ministry.
