Dhindsa to represent India in ACC executive board
New Delhi, March 12 : In a first, Cycling Federation of India (CFI) president Parminder Singh Dhindsa has been nominated to be on the executive board of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC).
Dhindsa will be India's representative in the ACC decision-making body, which consists of 13 members. The decision was taken at the ACC Congress here Tuesday which was also attended by International Cycle Union (UCI) president Pat McQuaid.
"This is a major development for the sport of cycling in the country," said CFI secretary Onkar Singh.
"Having a say in decision-making in the ACC is the best thing that can happen to Indian cycling," he added.
India is currently hosting the Asian Championships where the action shifts to the Budd International Circuit for the road races beginning Wednesday. The track events took place at the Indira Gandhi velodrome.
