Kolkata to host IPL 6 inauguration
Mumbai, Mar 12 : The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 will commence with an Opening Ceremony on the evening of Apr 2 at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
The IPL on Tuesday said it has signed Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt Ltd as promoters for the Opening Ceremony.
"We are delighted to have tied up with Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt Ltd, which has a proven track record of organising and executing events on a grand scale," said IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla.
"The Opening Ceremony of the Pepsi IPL 2013 will be one of the most spectacular events ever witnessed, in keeping with what will follow in the tournament itself, over the following seven weeks," he said.
He said further details pertaining to the opening extravaganza will be announced over the next few days.
The sixth edition of IPL will be played across the country from Apr 3 to May 26.
