BSE Sensex falls on IT, autos
Mumbai, Mar 11 : The BSE Sensex fell 0.19 percent on Monday as IT stocks declined on profit taking and autos on poor outlook.
The 30-share benchmark index ended 37.02 points lower at 19,646.21 with 20 of its components closings in the red.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.06 percent or 3.35 points lower at 5,942.35 on Monday.
Automakers slumped after car sales in India posted the biggest fall in 12 years for February while interest sensitive stocks were hit on an Reserve Bank of India (RBI) comment.
Meanwhile in the New Delhi bullion market, gold gained Rs 20 to Rs 29,840 per 10 grams while silver advanced by Rs 50 to Rs 55,100 per kg.
