Wal-Mart studying Indian conditions: Government
New Delhi, Mar 11 : The government on Monday said American retail giant Wal-Mart is studying the economic conditions in India.
"Mr Doug McMillon, CEO Walmart met the Commerce, Industry & Textiles Minister during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2013, at Davos. During the meeting, CEO Walmart conveyed that they are studying the conditions in India," said Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, S. Jagathrakshakan in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Monday.
"He was assured about the finality of the policy on foreign direct investment (FDI) in multibrand retail trading and the provision of necessary clarifications on the policy, if required," said the minister.
