Mumbai, Mar 6 : The BSE Sensex rose 0.57 percent on Wednesday as improving outlook for the U.S. economy and a dip in the rupee lifted IT stocks.

The 30-share benchmark index ended 109.44 points higher at 19,252.61 with 18 of its components closings in the green.

The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.59 percent or 34.35 points higher at 5,818.60 on Tuesday.

A resurgence in global risk appetite also boosted investor sentiment that was compounded by hopes of an interest cut by the RBI.

Meanwhile on the New Delhi bullion market, gold lost Rs 35 to Rs 30,010 per 10 grams while silver declined by Rs 300 to Rs 55,150 per kg.
