Akhilesh visits slain village head's family
Kunda, Uttar Pradesh, Mar 6 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday visited the family of slain village head Nanhe Yadav at Kunda town in Uttar Pradesh and said people involved in the conspiracy will not be spared.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Zia Ul Haq along with Gram Pradhan of Balipur village Nanhe Yadav and his brother were killed on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters, Akhilesh Yadav said: "Anyone involved in the conspiracy will not be spared."
"Things would be clear only after completion of the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) inquiry...The government will fully cooperate with the investigation," he said.
Akhilesh Yadav on Monday ordered a CBI inquiry into the killing of Zia-ul-Haque at Pratapgarh district in Uttar Pradesh.
The Chief Minister on the same day visited the wife of the senior police officer who was shot dead while on duty and agreed to her request that the CBI should investigate the murder.
Meanwhile, Zia-ul-Haque's wife Parveen has rejected her husband's post-mortem report and said there were three bullet marks on his body and not one as claimed in the report.
Uttar Pradesh Minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya on Monday resigned after he was booked a day ago in the killing of the Deputy Superintendent of Police.
Two of Singh's alleged aides were also arrested in the case based on a complaint filed by Parveen who had accused him and his men of killing her husband.
The widow alleged that the minister was harassing the police officer and had even had him attacked as he was investigating a recent communal clash in Pratapgarh.
A case of criminal conspiracy against the politician has been registered already. Singh has a long criminal track record.
The cop had gone to investigate a land dispute case when he was attacked by a mob and it is alleged that four men who dragged him and killed him were men of Singh.
Singh alias Raja Bhaiya, a Cabinet Minister in the Akhilesh Yadav government who was holding the Food and Civil Supplies portfolio, has several criminal cases against him.
