Chennai, Bengaluru safe for women in India: study
Mumbai, Mar 5 : Chennai and Bengaluru are the two top metros in the country where women can move around freely and feel safe.
Hyderabad and Delhi ranked the lowest amongst the metros for women safety.
These are the findings of Tata Strategic Management Group, the largest Indian-owned management consulting firm, which published the 2013 edition of Female Security Index (FSI) and Well Being Index (WBI) for India, today.
Southern states, Gujarat and most North-Eastern states emerged as the most secure for women, while Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab,Delhi and Rajasthan had the lowest ranking on FSI.
On the WBI, Punjab, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh were ranked at the top, while Chhattisgarh, Assam, Jharkhand and Bihar appeared at the bottom.
