Bangalore, Mar 4 : Former Kerala-based PDP president Abdul Nasser Madani, who is in judicial custody in the central jail here facing terror charges, today sought from a local court his release for five days to attend his daughter's wedding.

Madani's counsel P Usman filed an application under section 439 CrPC seeking temporary bail from March 8 to March 12, to attend his daughter's marriage in Kollam in Kerala due on March 10 and also to visit his ailing father in the same place.

The counsel submitted that his client was seeking grant of temporary bail under 'full police escort'.

The matter was adjourned to tomorrow for filing of objections by the prosecution.

On Feb 21, Madani returned to the central prison here after undergoing treatment at a wellness centre in the city for more than six weeks after a High court directive.

He has been lodged in the Parappana Agrahara central jail since August 2010 after he was arrested for his alleged role in the serial blasts in the city during 2008.
