Hologram system on liquor bottles to brought under excise dept
Kochi, Mar 4: Kerala Excise Minister K Babu today said hologram labeling system on liquor bottles would be fully brought under the control of Excise Department.
Inaugurating the state-level awareness programme against liquor and drugs, organised with National Service Scheme here, he said printing and distribution of holographic security labels, which include security features, would be fully brought under the Excise department.
While implementing the scheme, more than 80 posts would be created for this purpose, he said, adding though the hologram system was introduced in 2002, the Excise department had no control and there had been a
recommendation by the Accountant General that the system should be brought under the control of the department.
The mastering facility for the purpose would be made at Keltron, he said, adding CCTU system would be introduced in all the 23 KSBC warehouses.
The government was taking further steps in this regard on the basis of study reports in various states about the security labels, he added.
