ANGELS demands uniform fee for ambulance
Kozhikode, Mar 4 : Trauma care provider Active Network Group of Emergency Life Savers (ANGELS) in Kerala today demanded uniform fee structure for ambulance services in the state.
In a resolution adopted at its second annual meet here, the public charitable society said certain ambulance service providers charged exorbitant fee in the absence of a uniform structure, a release here said.
Alleging exploitation, it said certain ambulance service providers, who transport dead bodies alone, behaved like mafias by charging huge fee, it said.
It also demanded modernisation of ambulance services with sophisticated basic life support equipment.
The meet elected Kozhikode District Collector K V Mohan Kumar as Chairman, P M Janardanan Vice-Chairman and Dr Rajesh N as Executive Director.
Senior Congress leader M K Raghavan, MP, inaugurated the meet which was presided over by the Collector, the release added.
