2nd Test: India 5/0 at stumps

Hyderabad, Mar 2 : India finished the opening day's play of the second Test against Australia at five for no loss after the visitors declared their first innings at 237 for nine at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, here Saturday.

Murali Vijay (0*) and Virender Sehwag (4*) were at the crease when stumps were drawn with the home side still trailing by 232 runs.

Earlier, Australia declared their first innings at 237 for nine.

Australia skipper Michael Clarke top scored with 91 runs while Matthew Wade made 62 runs.

Clarke hit nine boundaries and a six in his innings.

Clarke and wade added 145 runs in the fifth wicket partnership that helped Australia stabilise the innings after the visitors lost four quick wickets earlier.

Australian scorecard showed 63 runs for the loss of four wickets at one point of their innings.

Indian bowlers bowled well in the final session of the day to reduce Australia from 187 for four to 237 for nine

Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/53) and left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja (3/33) were the most effective bowlers for India.
