Coimbatore/Pune, Mar 1 : Maruti Suzuki India Ltd faced broad sales dip in all car segments barring the super compact segment inFebruary compared to the same month last year.
However, the overall sales of the company did not experience much fall owing to the the marginal increase in exports which is 11,612 against the 11,296 units last year.
The company has recorded a sale of 1,09,567 units in February, including 11,612 units in the export market -- a dip of 8 per cent on a year-on-year basis.
The passenger car sales in February fell to 83,865 units, which is a dip of 10.9 per cent while it sold 94,118 units last year.
Similarly, the mini passenger car segments comprising of M 800, Alto, A-Star and WagonR, witnessed a sales fall to 41,311 units, which is a drop of 15.9 per cent as the company sold 49,104 in the same month last year.
The compact segment comprising of Swift, Estilo, Ritz recorded a sale of 24,021 units as against the sale of 27,899 units last year, making it to drop by 13.9 per cent.
Passenger cars super compact segment having DZire in the list sold 18,316 while the same sold 15,068 last year in the same month causing a dip of 21.6 per cent.
In the mid-size and executive passenger car segments, the fall in sales is more steep with just 215 units of sale for the former against a sale 2,033 making it a dip of 89.4 per cent, while the later sold a mere 2 Kizashi luxury cars compared to 14 vehicles in February last year, which is an 85.7 per cent decline.
However, the only exception for Maruti is the utility vehicles segment comprising of Gypsy, Grand Vitara, Ertiga which registered a sale of 5,957 as against 230 units last year, witnessing a whopping increase 2490.0 per cent.
The total domestic sales for the company is 97,955 units, but in February last year the company sold 10,7653 units registering a dip of 9.0 per cent.
