PM condoles Cong MP Gadhvi's demise
New Delhi, Mar 1 : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday condoled the death of Congress MP from Gujarat Mukesh Gadhvi.
The Prime Minister said that 'in the sad and untimely demise of Shri Gadhvi, a promising political career had been cut short'.
Singh offered his deepest condolences to the family, friends and admirers of Gadhvi.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day after condoling the death of Gandhvi on Friday.
In her obituary reference, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar said: "An active social and political worker, he promoted the cause of education, particularly of the girl child."
The Congress breathed his last at a private hospital in Ahmedabad on Friday. He died of multiple organ failure, party sources said.
He was 50.
He was earlier admitted to a hospital after suffering from a brain stroke.
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: "Sad to know about demise of Banaskantha MP Shri Mukesh Gadhvi. My condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace."
