BJP leaders to brainstorm 2014 elections
New Delhi, March 1 : Keeping in view the upcoming assembly polls and the general elections in 2014, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will hold its National Council and National Executive meeting in New Delhi from Friday (March 1). BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that party's National Executive will meet on March 1 while the two day national council will be held from March 2.
Media reports said some party leaders are likely to pitch for Modi to be selected as the prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 polls.
Naqvi said the meeting will start with the address of party President Rajnath singh and will discuss the economic, social and political issues of the country.
He said that national executive will be held in four sessions and nation council meeting will be held in nine sessions.
"In the three days meeting we will discuss the strategy for upcoming elections with the motto 'Sushasan sankalp BJP vikalp [Good governance pleged, BJP as alternative]," said Naqvi.
Naqvi said that economic, social, political situation and challenges before the country will be discussed in the council and executive meeting.
"Corruption, scam, inflation, internal security, national security will be talked about," he said.
The meetings will chalk out the road map for strategies and preparations for the upcoming general elections. Party workers will be conveyed to go to the public with the slogan of f ''sushasan sankalp BJP vikalp''.
Naqvi said that all members of the National council and national executive, MP's of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, members of the legislative assembly, state office bearers, national co-ordinators of morchas, co-coordinators, all district Presidents and general secretaries, BJP mayors, District Panchayat Presidents and Organisation secretaries will participate in the national council meeting.
National executive meeting will be held in NDMC Convention Centre here and National Council will be held in Talkatora Indoor Stadium.
