BSE Sensex loses 300 points
Mumbai, Feb 26 : The BSE Sensex fell 1.64 percent on Tuesday as caution ahead of the country's annual budget struck major stocks.
The 30-share benchmark index ended 316.55 points lower at 19015.14 with 25 of its components closings in the green.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 1.60 percent or 93.40 points lower at 5,761.35 on Tuesday.
Investors also tracked a slide in equities overseas after the inconclusive Italian election rekindled fears about the euro zone.
Meanwhile on the New Delhi bullion market, gold rebounded by Rs 280 to Rs 30,180 per 10 grams while silver surged by Rs 1,700 to Rs 55,450 per kg.
