Mysore, Feb 26 : Consumers of Mysore region coming under Chamundi Electricity supply company (CESCOM) have opposed the power tariff hike proposed by the Electricity Supply Corporations (ESComs).
If the government gives its nod to the proposals of Escome the consumer would launch an agitation, they said speaking at the public hearing conducted by the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) in the city at deputy commissioner's office here today.
The hearing was chaired by KERC chairman M R Srinivasa Murthy and members Vishwanath Hiremath and M R K Srinivasa Rao.
Putting forth their opinions, Kodagu Irrigation Society President Subbaiah, Coffee Planters' Association members Ganapathy and Subramanya sought free power for their irrigation pump sets as was being given to farmers.
