Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 25 : A seminar and historical exhibition, as part of the 75th annual celebration of Travancore State Congress, was inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here today.
The programme is jointly organised by I&PRD and Archives department as part of the annual celebration of Travancore State Congress.
The activities of State Congress has immensely influenced the history of the state and has motivated the Independence movement in the state, the Chief Minister said.
The members of the Independence movement have to suffer a lot in their life. Now communism, corruption, terrorism has all marred the beauty of democracy, he opined.
"It is the responsiblity of each and everyone to uphold the sanctity of Independence. Gandhian thoughts are gaining popularity as years are passing by," he said.
Minister K C Joseph, K Muraleedharan, MLA, and others were also present.
