Shahid takes off on 32nd birthday
Mumbai, Feb 25 : Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor turned 32 years of age on Monday and the birthday boy has planned to spend his special day by taking himself away from work.
The actor had reportedly planned in advance to take two days off to celebrate his 32nd birthday.
"Shahid was going through a lull in his career post Mausam. That's when Rajkumar Santoshi came to his rescue and cast him in his next opposite Ileana D'Cruz. He promised himself he would finish shooting before his birthday as a gift to himself," a source was quoted as saying by Mid Day.
Shahid had planned to commence his special day by watching the 85th annual Academy Awards on TV, the source said.
The actor began his career by working in music videos and advertisements, and made his Bollywood debut as a background dancer in Subhash Ghai's 'Taal'.
He later made his acting debut in 'Ishq Vishk' (2003) and won a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his performance.
However, there is a long list of unsuccessful films after he debuted including 'Fida', 'Shikhar' 'Yeh Dil Maange More' and '36 China Town' among others.
He tasted commercial success with films like 'Vivah', 'Jab We Met' and 'Kaminey'.
'Jab We Met' and 'Kaminey' also earned him critical acclaims.
Shahid is now all set to start preparing for his next film with Prabhu Deva.
Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar wished the birthday boy on Twitter saying:" Happy birthday @shahidkapoor. have a good one. Best wishes always."
Celebrity photographer DabbooRatnani tweeted: With the B'day Boy @shahidkapoor ... Happy Birthday Buddy...."
