MTS India, IUEPN continue fight against polio
Kolkata, Feb 25 : Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd (SSTL) that nationally provides telecom services under the brand MTS partnered with India Unite to End Polio Now (IUEPN) campaign supported by UNICEF, for polio eradication awareness campaign across West Bengal, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
As the telecom partner for the campaign, MTS sent out specially designed SMSs to its subscribers across these four states informing them about the polio rounds organised this weekend.
The SMS read, "February 24 tarikh e apni apnar shishu ke Polio diye surokhito korun. Proti bar apnar shishu ke Polio khawan".
MTS India has been associated with the IUEPN program since November 2010.
Over the last two years, the company has actively participated in awareness drives in several states including Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Haryana, reminding people via SMS about the need to get their children vaccinated against polio.

Under the campaign, polio booths were set up at multiple locations across West Bengal, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi to administer polio drops to children.
