BSE Sensex edges lower
Mumbai, Feb 22 : The BSE Sensex fell 0.04 percent on Friday as declines in prominent stocks compounded caution ahead of the budget.
The 30-share benchmark index ended 8.35 points lower at 19,317.01 with 16 of its components closings in the red.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.03 percent or 1.95 points lower at 5,850.30 on Friday.
Aviation stocks were among the days decliners while shares such as ITC and HDFC also posted falls.
Meanwhile on the New Delhi bullion market, gold gold gained Rs 280 to Rs 30,000 per 10 grams while silver also rose by 450 to Rs 55,000 per kg.
