BSP creates ruckus in UP Assembly
Lucknow, Feb 14 : The Uttar Pradesh Assembly witnessed chaos on Thursday as former Chief Minister Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) members created ruckus over the recent stampede incident in Allahabad railway station and protested against the lawlessness in the state.
BSP members created ruckus when Governor BL Joshi was addressing the joint session of the House on the first day of the Budget Session.
The protesting members reportedly stood on desks and threw paper balls at the Governor.
The security guards quickly took Joshi away from the spot.
BSP members shouted slogans and said they were protesting against Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav as he was unable to maintain law and order in the north India state.
They claimed the Samajwadi Party (SP)-led state government was not handling the Allahabad railway station stampede incident seriously.
At least 36 people were killed and several others were injured in the stampede at the Allahabad railway station on Sunday.
Earlier reports said the stampede took place on a footbridge between platforms 5 and 6.
Most people present at the station during that time were devotees who had come to take a holy dip at the Maha Kumbh mela on the occasion of 'Mauni Amavasya'.
