Punia expresses concern over increasing crime incidents among youths
Hisar, Feb 12 : Padamshree Olympian Krishna Punia today expressed her concern over increasing incidents of crime among youths, specially against women.
"The youths of our country are blindly following the western culture. It is not good. They should imbibe only the good aspects of western culture and shun the bad habits. The increasing incidents of crime among the youths, and especially against women, is a matter of great concern", she said while addressing the students after inaugurating the 62nd annual athletic meet of Dayanand College here.
She exhorted the students to take part in sports for better career and fitness in life. She praised the sports policy of Haryana for providing jobs and giving handsome incentive to the sportsmen.
Ms Punia, who is health ambassador of Rajasthan government, appealed to the youths to propagate against the female foeticide.
Later she told newspersons that she had met Railway Minister Puwan Kumar Bansal and urged him to link Agroha, her native village, with railway line and the minister assured her for the same.
She also urged the Haryana Chief Minister to build a sports stadium in Agroha.
