Parl Standing Committee holds discussion on railway accidents

Hyderabad, Feb 12 : The Parliamentary Standing Committee held informal discussion with South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager A K Mital during its visit here on the major railway accidents during the past five years and causes and remedial measures.

The SCR General Manager had apprised the members of the committee headed by Nandi Yellaiah, incharge chairman on the analysis of train accidents on SCR and the various measures taken/being implemented to prevent accidents.

Earlier in the day, the Committee Members visited various Shop floors in the Carriage and Wagon Workshop, South Lallaguda, Secunderabad and interacted with the employees and representatives of Trade Unions.

Mr Mital told the visiting members about the performance, activities and the improvements made in coach maintenance practices in this Workshop.

Principal Heads of Department and senior officials of South Central Railway were present during the visit of the committee.
