Bangalore, Feb 12 : A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered after removing her eyes in Chikanahalli, in the outskirts of the city.
Police said the victim was returning to her grandmother's house after attending school in a Anganawadi when the incident took place.
Parents of the victim Munikrishna and Pavitra were working as labourers and when they returned home they found that their daughter did not return from school to her grandmother's house in the afternoon yesterday. They went searching for her and when their exercise was found to be futile, a missing case was filed with Madivala Police station.
Today the parents were called to identify a body thrown in a drainage and when it was identified as that of their daughter, the body was sent for post-mortem.
DCP P C Harsha said the eyes might have been removed by stray dogs or the culprits. "She might have been raped before the murder. However, we will be knowing the facts after getting post-mortem report," he said.
